An hour south of Guererro Negro, the Vizcaino plane. Rain made it spectacular!
It rained a good bit the week before we arrived so the desert is alive with color.
And we thought WE were adventurous. Zero shoulder, big trucks, brave cyclists.
Salt flats on the road to Bahia Tortugas
The salt flats collapsed beneath our feet so it was spooky, but fun to walk on.
Arrived Tortugas late. Sketchy town so opted for only hotel in town. Old and a bit nasty, but safe.
I'm pretty sure the furniture was from the 1950's, or earlier.
We did have our own bathroom, which was a luxury.
What will we do with three beds!?
Colorful, very thin, sheet combos.
Three beds so Chami gets her own.
Best thing about Hotel Nanci was its collection of whale bones.
The van gets a break for the night.
Took us more than one hour to find a motel, any motel, in Bahia Tortugas
Bob & Chami happy despite the 4 hour trip to Bahia Tortugas and the possibility of good surf that wasn't to be found.
Chami got in a session at least.
Chami's thinking about hanging ten.
Not quite an overhead wave.
I think Chami got more rides on my board than I did.
Two dolphins and some gulls
Going to check crab pots.
Few drive to Bahia Tortugas. It is the only refueling harbar for boats between San Diego and Cabo.
Looking from the patio of a restaurant back at town and the pier.
Inside the catholic church.
